Welcome to Spring River Country!

The Spring River area, also known as the eastern gateway to the Arkansas Ozarks’, is the ideal destination for weekenders seeking to get away to rest and relax, and it’s also an idyllic community to call home.

The area’s vibrant tourist-based economy is built around its lakes, rivers, and streams providing a perfect retreat destination that offers residents and vacationers a variety of water sports and top-shelf fishing. Spring River area is also well known for camping, hunting, golfing and other outdoor activities. The affordable and slow-paced lifestyle here makes it an ideal location for baby-boomers and families seeking a community where the cost of living is low and quality of life is high.

With a combined population of just over 7,500, the area’s four main cities offer a variety of residential, commercial and land opportunities.

Ash Flat (pop. 1,082) was founded in 1856 and serves as the county seat of Sharp County and is home to Ozarka College’s Ash Flat campus, the Veterans Memorial Park, the Sharp County sports complex and a bustling business and commercial sector.

Cherokee Village (pop. 4,671) is a 13,000-acre recreational community founded on the banks of the South Fork River in 1954 as one of the nation’s first master-planned communities and the first of its kind in Arkansas. The Village is home to two championship 18-hole golf courses, seven lakes, two recreation centers, swimming pools, tennis, trails, RV park and campground, all of which are private amenities for the benefit of property owners and their guests.

Hardy (pop. 772) was founded in 1883 on the banks of the Spring River and quickly became a vibrant railroad town. Today, visitors can enjoy the historic Main Street, campgrounds and parks along the river and the many outdoor outfitters that provide residents and visitors access to canoeing and fishing along the Spring River.

Highland (pop. 1,045) is home to Highland Schools that serve as the area’s public school system and the city’s central location along the main road artery connecting the four cities makes it an important commercial destination.

About Us

King-Rhodes and Associates, Inc. has been serving Sharp, Fulton and Izard counties for more than five decades, establishing itself as one of the most recognized, respected and trusted names in real estate in north central Arkansas.

Founded by Kenneth King in 1963, the real estate firm grew with the exploding development in the area, especially the planned community of Cherokee Village, nestled around seven beautiful lakes in a quiet pastoral setting.

In 1981, Ron Rhodes joined the firm as partner helping usher in a new era of growth and expansion. Rhodes, formerly with Cooper Communities, Inc., the legendary Arkansas development company that established Cherokee Village in 1954, brought to the firm a keen knowledge of the Village’s real estate market as well as a strong track record for residential sales and client service.

During the 1990’s, King-Rhodes expanded its portfolio with the addition of long-term rental and property management as well as nightly vacation rentals including single-family homes and Los Indios Timeshares.

In 2002, Rhodes became sole owner of the firm, leading it through a significant period of growth during the first decade of the new century.

Today, King-Rhodes & Associates includes a dynamic team of high-performing agents and property management and rental professionals ready to serve you.

Call or come by to give King-Rhodes & Associates an opportunity to put its depth of experience and commitment to client service to work for you.
